If you have Apple's “Text-to-Speech” Speech Manager installed, TimeTracker will occasionally speak to you.
For example, it will greet you with a “Good morning” in the morning or “Good evening” in the evening, and if you select “About TimeTracker” from the Apple menu, it will “speak” your name.

Where do I get Apple's “Text-to-Speech”?
It comes with all PowerMacs and AV machines. Search for words such as Speech, and you should find the installer. Otherwise, ask Apple. Their number from the U.S. is 800-SOS-APPL.
How do I turn off the speech from TimeTracker.
Deinstall the Speech Manager, or turn down the sound volume, or delete resource ID 132 of the type STR# (see next question).
How do I change TimeTracker's voice?
Using a resource editor such as ResEdit, open a copy of TimeTracker and open resource STR#, ID number 132. There you'll see the default voice. To find out what other voices are available to you, either open the Voices folder (in the Extensions folder), or look at the Voices menu in SimpleText. Change the current voice in the recourse to a new name. Save your changes, and restart TimeTracker. Caution: make sure you are working on a copy of TimeTracker, and try not to use voices that start with TT. These voices use a lot of RAM. Delete this resource if you don't want TimeTracker to speak at all.
